Wait, you must be thinking, didn’t Amazon just have a Prime Day sale in July? They did, and oops, they’re doing it again on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8–9. In case you blocked the year 2020 out of your memory, that was when Amazon moved Prime Day to October (I’m assuming due to supply-chain issues), but they’ve been having an additional sale every October since—as I can tell you from 20 years in the retail industry, your sales projections are based on year-over-year comps, so once you start doing a big sale like that, you can’t ever stop. Thus an incremental Prime Day it is. I did very minimal shopping at the July sale as it was during No-Buy July, however I’m not planning to go nuts during this one either. The best course of action for shopping these event sales is to stock up on stuff you regularly use and not be seduced by those little red sale flags and countdown clocks. That said, the holidays are fast approaching, and if you see something that you think would make a good gift—even for yourself, no judgment here—it’s probably a good time to buy it.
Like nearly every other blogger or influencer out there, I am an Amazon Creator (aka affiliate), which means they give us a preview of what’s going to be on sale. I don’t know the exact prices for things—and there will definitely be many more items added—but I combed through thousands of products to find the ones I use and recommend. Here’s what’s worth buying on sale, plus you can find everything in my Amazon Prime Day shop.

This week on the blog
It’s my final trend report of the season and I saved the best for last: suede. I have a somewhat fraught relationship with this material—love the look, hate the upkeep—but have some tips on what to invest in, including my favorite boots from Anthropologie.
