7 days of real outfits
What I've actually been wearing this winter, plus the best eyelash serum I've ever tried.
This is the time of year when we start to get really sick of our clothes. Retailers know this, because they start blasting us with emails about all the cute, light, pretty spring things now hitting their shelves. If you’re like me, you tend to get seduced by all the newness, so you buy a bunch of stuff that will sit in your closet for another two months before you can actually wear it. This year I am vowing not to fall into that trap. I’ve always been inspired by what other people are wearing (Leandra Medine Cohen and Mrs. Solomon are among my current favorites); while I might not re-create their looks to a T, I always at least get a spark or two to help pull me out of my wardrobe rut. I, on the other hand, am not a stylist, but hopefully some of the following looks will give you some fresh ideas.
Cardigan, turtleneck & 501s
The Rosewood hotel in Vancouver had such a good selfie mirror, I had to get a shot. Everything I’m wearing here has been on heavy rotation this season, especially the boots.
Everlane alpaca cardigan | Wolford Colorado bodysuit | Madewell Western belt | Levi’s 501 jeans | Balenciaga first bag (current version) | Freda Salvador Brooke boots
Knit blazer, black tee & black jeans
This blazer is one of my all-time favorite purchases from Naked Cashmere before they had a big rebrand and jacked up their prices. Also, these jeans are perfection and I should wear them more often.
Naked Cashmere blazer (similar style) | We the Free Arden tee | Mother The Insider jeans | Quince moccasins (sold out; similar here)
Cashmere sweater & barrel jeans
I bought these jeans because I love my Shon pants (keep scrolling!) so much. I feel like I am maybe not cool enough to really pull these off, but that’s not going to stop me from trying.
Vince cashmere sweater (similar style) | Nili Lotan Emerson jeans (go down a size) | Quince moccasins (sold out; similar here)
Knit jacket, black tee & wide-leg jeans
I have somehow become a when-you-love-something, buy-it-in-all-the-colors kind of person—I own this jacket in two colors and would be tempted to get it in black and/or ivory too. It’s that good.
IRO Shavani jacket (current season) | Toteme black knit top (current version) | Mother The Spinner jeans | Quince moccasins (sold out; similar here)
Cropped turtleneck & white jeans
It was unseasonably warm in San Francisco recently and felt like spring, so while still cozy, this look felt a little lighter and brighter.
Reliquary sweater (current version) | Zara culotte jeans (current version) | Quince moccasins (sold out; similar here)
Knit jacket, tee & barrel pants
Yep, things I own in multiple colors, put together. Also, this belt is such a good Khaite dupe.
IRO Shavani jacket (current season) | Isabel Marant linen tee (similar style) | Madewell triple metal keeper belt | Nili Lotan Shon pants (go down 2 sizes) | Quince moccasins (sold out; similar here)
Sweater dress & knee-high boots
You thought it was going to be another sweater-and-pants outfit, didn’t you?! I wore this to the ballet the other night and was so cozy, thanks to the wool tights (they’re a splurge but worth it).
Very old COS sweater dress (similar style) | Falke sweater tights | Silent D Erena suede boots
This week on the blog
I hope you are reading this on mobile because wow do my pores look ginormous on desktop. Anyway, this week I gave Revitalash Advanced an honest review and the photo above is a big spoiler alert, but, yep, the stuff really freaking works.
