34 things to buy during the Sephora sale
Solid recommendations from a former employee (that's me!)
I’m sure every content creator you follow is doing a Sephora sale post right now, and yep, that includes me. Why should you read mine? Because I worked for Sephora for three years and thus totally know what I’m talking about! 😉 Really, even though I like to stay on top of what’s new in beauty, I’m always curious to hear what other people are recommending—if I see enough raves about something, I will almost certainly give it a try. You can find my master list of Sephora recommendations here, but in the meantime, here’s an edit of my all-time favorite products, recent loves, and what I’m thinking about buying. As a reminder, Rouge members get 20% off currently, VIBs get 15% off starting Tuesday, and regular Beauty Insiders get 10% also starting Tuesday; Sephora Collection is 30% off for the duration of the event. The sale runs through 4/14, and I’ll blast a reminder or two on social media. In the meantime, I recommend loading up your cart with the following.
My all-time favorite products
Left to right:
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray: You think you don’t need this, but trust me, you do.
Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream, Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads, and Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm: This is the holy trinity of easy three-step skincare.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: I literally won’t sleep without this; my lips would feel like coarse-grade sandpaper without it.
Westman Atelier Liquid Super-Loaded Illuminator Drops: For a subtle, your-skin-but-better allover glow.
Bobbi Brown Skin Color Corrector Stick: What dark circles? I don’t have any dark circles.
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, Long-Wear Cream Eyeliner, and Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow Stick: The best volumizing mascara on the market, idiot-proof eyeliner, and eyeshadow that stays put.
Kosas Air Brow: No, I will not shut up about how much I love this product.
Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlighter Stick: The best blush/bronzer/highlighter stick around.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray: A miracle volumizing product for anyone with fine, limp hair.
Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen Multi-Peptide Booster: A do-it-all serum for plumping, smoothing, and softening.
Clarins Cryo-Flash Mask: This makes you look like you slept like an angel and did not have 3 glasses of wine the night before.
Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Toner: A P50 for the rest of us, and a holy grail exfoliator for me.
Not pictured: Whoops, I forgot to include the least drying body cleanser on the planet, L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil.
New-to-me loves
Left to right:
Shark FlexStyle: This has transformed my hair routine so much, I have a full honest review coming to the blog soon.
K18 Leave-In Hair Mask: I use 2 pumps of this (a little goes a long way) and am amazed at how it’s helping my hair recover from years of heat damage.
Violette_FR Petal Bouche Liquid Longwearing Matte Lipstick: Amazingly, this does not dry your lips out, and the color lasts FOREVER.
Farmacy Honey Halo: This is my favorite kind of moisturizer—thick and ultra-hydrating, yet sinks in quickly.
Dior Addict Shine Lipstick: Finally, a lightweight yet pigmented lipstick with some staying power (and a very chic tube)!
Great buys under $20
Left to right:
Anything from The Inkey List, but especially the Caffeine Eye Cream, Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and Oat Cleansing Balm (not pictured).
I’m a huge fan of Tower 28 LipSoftie Tinted Balm—I have a mini stashed in every bag—but my favorite is the Dulce de Leche.
Everything Sephora Collection is 30% off, but I highly recommend the Matte Velvet Lipstick (this is very old packaging!), the Cream Lip Stain (ditto), and the Big by Definition Mascara (not pictured).
What’s in my basket
Violette_FR Bisou Balm: Hi, my name is Cheryl, and I’m addicted to lipstick, particularly sheer matte balms.
Innbeauty Project Extreme Cream: Supposedly a Bader dupe; I was a huge fan of the eye cream.
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder: This one seems to have a strong cult following, and I’m almost out of my foundation stick.
Westman Atelier Lip Suede: I’ve been seeing this one (in Je Reve) on a lot of influencers lately, and I love everything Gucci Westman does.
ROZ Santa Lucia Heat Protectant Oil: I’ve been dying to try this line; this is one of the hero products (and god knows my hair needs all the help it can get).
This week on the blog
Yes, it’s the same outfit I wore last week with a printed jacket thrown on top, but don’t let that deter you—in this week’s spring trend report, I go pretty deep about the piece that got me out of a style rut and how I’m finally saying goodbye to quiet luxury. Adios, tasteful neutrals!
